Well, tomarrow is fathers day. A day when we all should think back and thank our fathers for all they have done for us. Sadly though, fathers are becoming extinct. Today, 40% of American children don't have fathers. It is a fact that most of these children will be involved in gangs, drugs, violance, premarital sex, and will themselves be absentee dads. Girls tend to date and marry men who are like their fathers and boys tend to grow up and to be like their fathers. Is it any wonder divorce is so high? Yet society wants us to beleive that fathers are not needed. Then people come to me and ask what is wrong with our children today. These are the same peole that say there is no difference between males and females. But there is and children needs a mom and dad.
Fathers play a very important role in a family. I listened to a teenage girl talking about her father. It is him that the family built there faith on. He gave them courage, streight and direction. She knew that if anything went wrong, dad could fix it. She always felt safe and secure around her father. Another man talk about the time his father was in the hospital dieing. He lost his father several years ago. He remembered when he was flying to his parents house with his wife. He started thinking about the great times his fathaer and him had togther. He said his greatest memeries of his father was between 10 and 13. He remembers when he would wake up real early with his father. Before anyone else would wake up. They would get their hunting gear and go out into the woods. His father would set up an area behind a fallen tree and they would sit their waiting for whatever they were hunting at that time. He said that it was those moments he felt special and would b!
ond with his father.
A lot of the blame for our crumbling families does goto society and the femenom movement. There are groups that are trying to brainwash people into thinking that family isn't inportant. I have even heard people say that men in traditional families are abusive and the women are abused. Christian men seem to be the worse according to these people. Oh, I am a wicked person because my wife is submissive and I am the Head of Household. I am a "control freak." All this is used to scare people away from having a traditional family. Some people would much rather avoid having a family that has been proven to work so they will not be labeled.
But, I want to focus on the men. Their are a lot of boys out there but very few men. Guys getting women pregnant and not taking responsiblity in raising the child. Guys who are married but not being the straigth that family can lean on. Men, your role as Husband and Father doesn't have to be extinct. You do have the ability to change this. You can have a wife who leans on you, depends on you, and most of all...loves you. You can have children that looks up to you and respects you. Children who make you proud. Neighbors and friends who look at you and say, "You are blessed." It doesn't take a high school education or collage education. You don't have to download a lot of statistics or buy lots of books writen by Doctors. All you have to do is have one book and you can get this book for free. That book is the Bible and in this book it gives instructions on being a man and a father. God gives you the instructions on what makes a good husband and father. Only you !
can put those instructions to use though. It requires lots of work. You have to put down the video games and remote control. When they say, "Big boys, Big toys" they were not talking about actual toys. My toys are the lawn mower, truck, chainsaw, ect. Toys that my wife likes me having. It is also about stepping up and making decitions. This, I admit is tough. Especially when you love your family and want the best for them. You are afraid that you may make the wrong decition. Well, you may. That is when responsibility comes in, another thing that makes a man. The greatest thing that makes a good man is actually what will minimize the mistakes and poor decitions. Faith in the Lord. Just as your wife and your children will lean on you to guide the family, you two should lean on God to guide you. God knows you you can't handle all this responsibility and wont leave you to do it by yourself. If you read the Bible you will notice that everytime a great man made a !
mistake it was because that man didn't look to God for the answer. Ma
ny of them though was able to fix the problem only after they went to God for help. None of these men became great on their own. They looked to God and answered to God. Because of that, their wives and children looked up to them for direction.
Earlier, I talked about a man who looked back on his life with his father as his father was in the hospital. He loved his father very much and had a difficult time facing the fact that he was loosing his father. A question for you fathers out there. What memeries will your children have of you? Sadly, I don't have very many memaries of my father and I. It is my stepfather who I have fond memories of growing up. My favorite times is when my stepfather and I would work on the cars. I loved those times with him the most. My father missed all that and can't get them back. My father and I are real close now and I love him. He has taught me a very huge lesson in life. Don't make the same mistake.
Take care and God Bless.
Love,
